1. List the questions you need to track. Five to ten real customer questions are enough for most small businesses; agencies and large brands need hundreds.
2. Decide which engines matter. If your customers mostly use ChatGPT and Google, you don't need to pay for nine engines.
3. Check how often you need data. Daily tracking matters for fast-moving categories; weekly or monthly is fine for most local businesses.
4. Look at the evidence each tool shows. The full answer text and the exact cited URLs are what you act on — a score alone doesn't tell you what to fix.
