The Best Google AI Overview Trackers, Compared

Of the tools we checked, these confirm Google AI Overview tracking on their own sites: Otterly.AI, Peec AI, Profound, Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit, Ahrefs Brand Radar — plus YourAIRank. The biggest differences are whether you track your own searches or a vendor's keyword database, whether searches without an AI Overview are recorded, how often data refreshes, and whether there's a free way to start. Which is best depends on whether you need daily data, keyword-scale research or a focused check of your own customers' searches.

An AI Overview is the AI-written summary Google puts above the regular results — for some searches, not all. Google AI Overview monitoring therefore has three parts: whether an Overview appeared for a search at all, whether it named your brand, and which pages it linked. A tracker repeats that for the same searches over time, so you see when an Overview starts or stops appearing and when your brand or pages enter or leave it.

Because Google decides per search whether to show an Overview, a missing Overview isn't the same as a missing mention. Good AI Overview monitoring tools keep those two apart.

AI Overview tracking watches the summary box on the normal results page, which appears only for some searches. AI Mode tracking watches Google's separate conversational search, which answers every query and supports follow-ups. They draw on the same index but can name different businesses, so tools that combine them in one figure can hide a gap.
